Methodology

The app reads polling-station-level election data from the uploaded Excel file. For the selected election year, it detects the party columns that contain votes for that year. For each selected party, vote share is calculated as party votes divided by the number of participating voters in the polling station. The scatterplot orders polling stations by the numeric part after the slash, where possible. The map uses polling-station latitude and longitude; marker size and color both represent the selected party's vote share.
